Social Media & Over Consumption

We live in a world where checking our phones has become second nature. On average, young adults spend 3 hours per day on social media (https://www.demandsage.com/average-time-spent-on-social-media), often without even realising it. These platforms can help us connect, learn, and keep us entertained, but this overconsumption can come with real costs.

The Digial Detox Challenge

The Digial Detox Challengeis designed to help you step back and regain balance. For just 7 days, you will take small steps, like putting your phone away during meals or turning off non-essential notifications. Put these together, and you can make a real difference.

This isn’t about quitting social media completely. It is about using it more mindfully and creating space for rest and healthier habits.

Are you ready to take back control of your screen time?

Impacts of over consumption

We’re here to talk about the:

  • Mental health impacts: excessive screen time is linked to higher levels of stress, anxiety, and can disrupt your sleep

  • Lost presence: scrolling during important times like emails, conversations, or downtime, can reduce the quality of social interactions and make you feel disconnected from the moment

  • Information overload: think about how much information and endless streams of content you are taking in while scrolling through social media. While some of it is valuable, a lot of is spreads misinformation and fuels comparison and burnout.
